At the heart of the community with Jesus at the centre.
In the Methodist Church we recognise baptism (sometimes called a Christening) as an entry into the 'One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church' and we offer baptism to both adults and young children.
Baptism is a gift of God and usually takes place within the normal Sunday morning act of worship.
More information on Baptisms can be found here.
For some families Baptism isn't the right thing for their child, wanting to allow the child to make their own decisions in the future. An alternative available therefore is an Act of Thanksgiving which gives the opportunity to thank God for the safe arrival of a child and for parents to express their love for that child. More information on this can be found here.
